Alex Edwards - Brisbane Ramblings

Alex Edwards, who hails from Australia’s tropical state of Queensland, is a fountain of ability and diversity.


He was a contender for the renowned Billy Thorpe Prize in 2022, establishing his position as one of the most prominent voices in Queensland’s booming music industry. Alex’s skill, however, goes well beyond music—he is also a published novelist, having received a national literature award in 2021 for his eerie short story, The Psychotic Mind, and written two books.


Brisbane Ramblings, his most recent single release, is a mesmerising track that displays a knack for writing layered lyrics and merging a rock edge that creates power and highlights his high vocal range. The song has an unfiltered rock sound, utilising a guitar-based indie sensibility loaded with lyrical nuance and an absorbing narrative.


This new track demonstrates Alex’s artistic progression and unwavering ability to attract fans with his distinct style. With the release of Brisbane Ramblings and the highly anticipated Fantasia Fugue, Alex Edwards’ work will undoubtedly gain notoriety.

Alex’s musical career started with the release of his first album, Flight Frost, a compilation of twenty songs that merged singer-songwriter and folk-indie genres. This record is considered an indie classic in the Brisbane music scene, and it paved the way for the appearance of his 8-track sophomore EP, Fealty Fjords, which received international attention and accolades for its lovely melodies and sensual voice,with Modnoe FM in Saint Petersburg perfectly summarising the artist’s work: ‘Beautiful songs, sensual voice.’


Alex’s following albums, Flown Frosted and Freedom Fiesta, built on his popularity, with the notable track I Have Schizophrenia among them. Alex’s budding career will continue with the planned release of Fantasia Fugue in early 2023.
