The Perth born independent singer-songwriter is yet another example of the new breed of remarkable DIY artists forging their distinct paths to establishing a musical identity in Australia and globally.

Moving On is a contemporary dance-pop song with a stunning array of musical excellence, combining melodic power and lyrical prowess with a rousing vocal performance by Castle. Recorded and mixed by Chad Blondel from Blondel studios and mastered by Chris Gehringer (Sia, Dua Lipa, Halsey, Selena Gomez) of Sterling Sound, the singer-songwriter’s first release is sure to get a lot of attention from radio and streaming sites. The song reflects a coming-of-age experience but one that will also resonate with a wider demographic.

As Castle has said about Moving On, ‘The song is about the realisation that the end of a relationship does not have to be a heartbreaking experience, it can be a release. It’s an anthem to better times and new beginnings, to the growth and evolution of the teenager.’ A piano-driven chord progression introduces Castle’s vocal, previewing a contemplative mood that soon builds, with the help of astute rhythmic parts and lush strings, into a chorus with big hooks and layers of vocal textures and expansive sounds.

‘‘ The lyric’s universal theme further enriches the melody, its succinct and inventive imagery merging with Castle’s self-assured vocal performance.

The lyric’s universal theme further enriches the melody, its succinct and inventive imagery merging with Castle’s self-assured vocal performance. Moving On’s distinct blending of styles is no accident, as Castle has said about her work, ‘My music is kind of lyrical dance-pop. I don’t like to feel defined by a genre, but just express experiences and tell stories through my lyrics and create a vibe.’

The track simmers with intimacy and finesse yet contains a palpable amount of raw energy, with Castle’s vocal displaying a remarkable degree of conviction, subtlety, and allure. Moving On is not only Castle’s debut; it will undoubtedly be her first big hit.
