DRIFTWOOD. - Hold Onto Your Light

Sydney producer, singer-songwriter, and creative all-arounder Driftwood. has released Hold Onto Your Light.

The new track follows the success of his break-out track 3AM. Fresh from recently participating at The Great Escape Festival in the UK, as part of the official line-up of the Alternative Escape, to appearing at the highly revered Australian showcase in London for Sounds Australia’s The Aussie BBQ, Driftwood. continues to consolidate his position on the global music landscape as a dynamic artistic entity and genre-bending global artist.

Currently recording and producing music in London with music producer Dan-Vinci, the Driftwood. future continues to expand in the UK and beyond. As Driftwood. says, ‘It has been an experience of a lifetime.

The energy in London is second to none. I haven’t had a lot of time to process exactly what I’ve created, yet I feel extremely fluid and more inspired than ever. I’ve met some of the most incredible industry and creative people on this trip, and I am really excited for what the future holds.’

Hold Onto Your Light attempts the sonic equivalent of a spiritual awakening and very nearly attains this admirable goal, a genre hybrid whose quixotic and soulful heart is matched by the pulse of contemporary dance coursing through its veins. Such an awakening is arrived at via a meditative kind of refrain, with two particularly endearing ones littered throughout the track.

‘‘ Hold Onto Your Light attempts the sonic equivalent of a spiritual awakening and very nearly attains this admirable goal, a genre hybrid whose quixotic and soulful heart is matched by the pulse of contemporary dance coursing through its veins.

The ease in which the lines, ‘Slow down your love for me / slowdown that touch for me / slowdown that energy’ are expressed is transparently earnest but no less effective. When asked what inspires him, Driftwood. replied with an inarguable declaration, ‘Life, Love, hate, pain, joy. All the cliches.

I’m a full-time artist, I’m permanently inspired everywhere I look as I’m walking around with my artist’s hat on all the time looking for magic in the most mundane things.’ And there’s certainly a hefty dose of a reimagined reality in Hold Onto Your Light.
