SAM + SAM - SANDCASTLES

Sam + Sam (aka Sam Ludeman and Sam Russell) have released Sandcastles, the first single off the new album Evolve.

Sandcastles showcases the pair’s ability to merge popular rock-pop with modern country, resulting in a sound that is both recognisable and unique, thanks in part to the powerful way Ludeman and Russell’s vocals combine.

With over twenty years of expertise, the Australian-based duo continues to establish a worldwide audience and achieve success with their single releases, reaching the top of their respective iTunes categories.

The new single has already done impressive things, with the duo’s new album debuting as the #1 alternative album on iTunes and #2 overall. Sandcastles features a straight groove, augmented by guitar-driven layers, authoritative performances, and a series of amiable and memorable hooks.

The new track reveals the pair’s refined songwriting skills and ability to transpose a focused emotional idea into music. When the global pandemic happened, Sam + Sam brought their music into lounge rooms worldwide.

Their live broadcast immediately gained popularity, and as of now, the series has been seen by more than 5 million people, with each new episode being viewed by between 20,000 and 50,000 people. Sharing the stage with the likes of Birds of Tokyo, Jon Stevens, The Veronicas, Vanessa Amorosi, Thirsty Merc, and Olivia Newton-John, and many more, has reinforced Sam + Sam’s blossoming audience and boosted their profile on the Australian music scene.

Sandcastles is a notable track that reveals the extent of the pair’s collective experience, with Ludeman having been a finalist on The Voice in 2012, appearing in the films City Homicide and Spirit of the Game, and performing in touring productions of Grease, Fame, and Xanadu. Sam Russell had previously made news in the music industry when he collaborated with Macklemore to promote Jam for iPhone, a tool he created that employs artificial intelligence to assist individuals in songwriting.

In March, the Austin, Texas SXSW festival featured the app as a crucial marketing partner. Russell has also appeared as a music technology specialist on Channel 10’s The Project and Channel 9’s Today.
