TSTY - Over You

TSTY are about to release their brand new single Over You, a track that sees the band retain their indie-pop sensibilities yet now merging that with a superb contemporary edge, adopting elements of dance and reggae to produce a glistening and pristine game changer.

Working under the guidance of one of John Feldmann’s engineers, Michael Bono (Blink 182, The Hunna, New Politics) and having renowned LA producer Zakk Cervini (5SOS, Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud) mix and master the track, the band was inspired to flex their creative muscles and push the boundaries of their sound off the back of their celebrated debut EP Stuck In A Photograph and the huge success of their last single Broken.

TSTY, who are Chez Watson (Lead Vocals), Claudia Calabrese (Keyboard/Vocals), brothers Reece (Guitar/Vocals) & Caleb Lenzo (Bass) and James Papanaoum (Drums), met at a local music school in their hometown of Perth and the musical chemistry is once again loud and clear on this impressive new track.

The band’s shared passion for writing and performing music has led to pivotal artistic successes along the way, as well attracting a legion of fans and followers. The new track features an array of sonic delights, and it’s clear that the band feels just at home on the stage as they do in the studio.

‘‘The dynamics of the reggae-influenced groove will no doubt set it apart from the current crop of mainstream hits, creating a luxurious blend of satisfying modern pop in the process.

The song kicks off with some enticing aural textures before the verses drop, with Chez once again establishing her presence from the get-go. Over You features impassioned performances from all members though its focus is Chez’s vocal prowess. There are instant hooks all along the way here, with every part adding to the overall melodic power of the track. The dynamics of the reggae-influenced groove will no doubt set it apart from the current crop of mainstream hits, creating a luxurious blend of satisfying modern pop in the process.

As Chez says about the progression in TSTY’s sound and the meaning behind the new track Over You. ‘Each member of the band has such diverse musical tastes and Over You is what felt like the natural progression in our sound…Over You is a celebration to the empowerment you feel after moving on from a bad situation, whether it be a relationship or a friendship and the importance of self-worth’.
