BAYLEY PEARL - IN HER WAKE

Emerging singer-songwriter from Queensland, Bayley Pearl, has just released a track that is sure to help fulfil the young music artist’s ambitions.

As she has said about what she hopes will transpire, ‘I want to continue to be creative in the industry, play full time and have people hear my music and what I have to say.’ And In Her Wake certainly does have a lot to say, even if it is in a poetically-charged, defiant way, as the opening verse reveals: ‘She’s the wind / She’s the rain / She’ll blow you right down She’s a hurricane.’

The new track isa persuasive merging of country and pop, with a fiery lyric, a powerhouse vocal performance and memorable hooks. Bayley Pearl has successfully blended the contemporary with the classic, whichis no surprise considering the rising star’s musical background.

As she has said about her formative years,‘I grew up always loving music. My mum loves rock and my American born Dad is a huge country music fan. As a kid I sang everything from rock to jazz to musical theatre so feel lucky to have been exposed to so many styles.’

Co-written by Bayley and Danielle Lo Passo, and Shawn Byrne at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN, In Her Wake is a rousing anthem that will resonate with many. Discovering her passion for music as a young girl Bayley has been writing and creating music since a young age, formulating a style influenced by old-school classics and contemporary sounds.

After becoming a finalist in a Queensland music award in 2018, Bayley travelled to Nashville for a songwriting trip that has helped refine and define her artistic approach. As Bayley has said about her writing process,‘I pull a lot from my own personal experiences as well as from family and friends. A lot of the time I’m writing about things I can’t or won’t say out loud in a normal setting. It is a real therapy session sometimes!

Everything I write is very personal and, in some way, correlated with my life at that point in time. Relationships (the good, bad and the ugly) always make for some good stories!’ With her debut EP release forthcoming, a national tour featuring a performance at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January 2023, and a US visit in March of the same year, Bayley’s career trajectory is on an upward curve.
