HALFTIME LOVE - TSTY

Fresh from the massive success of their last single Over You, emerging Perth band TSTY is about to release the follow-up Halftime Love.

The new track pays homage to the 80s and features megaproducer Michael Bono (Blink 182, Mod Sun, New Politics) on vocals and production duties. Keeping their alternative-pop roots intact, Halftime Love has the band’s trademark stellar performances, an exuberant, hypnotic rhythm, and a soaring, anthemic chorus hook.

The band, consisting of Chez Watson (lead vocals), Claudia Calabrese (keyboard/vocals), brothers Reece (guitar/vocals) & Caleb Lenzo (bass), and James Papanaoum (drums), have known each other since the very beginning of their musical and creative endeavours, and have put their passions of writing and performing into practice ever since by performing to packed houses in some of Perth’s renowned live music venues, week-in and week-out.

As a result, they’ve made a name for themselves in the Perth music scene as not only one of the most vibrant and energetic groups around but also one of the hottest new pop bands in the country. Chez from the band explains the meaning behind their new track, ‘Halftime Love about broken relationships, where each person keeps hurting and spiting each other because it’s easier to do that than to say goodbye to the person you’ve been with for so long.’

‘‘ The new track just might be the break-out song for the band; its high-flying pop intensity matched by unforgettable hooks and a nuanced lyric that reveals undoubted skill for acute observation and expression.

TSTY are back in a big way and in for a busy 2021, with recording sessions with LA producer Jon Lundin (Point North, Good Charlotte, The Faim) starting in the coming weeks, new songs set to be released and a string of live gigs showcasing the band’s celebrated firepower.

This is only the beginning for TSTY, but you won’t want to sleep on this up-and-coming contemporary pop act.
