RUSTY GEAR - It's Still You

It’s Still You is the latest single from American singer-songwriter Rusty Gear, taken from his EP What We Believe.

The new song follows the incredible success of Check in Check Out Blues, which featured popular country act Calamity Jane.

It’s Still You has all the hallmarks of a classic country-pop crossover hit; a compelling lyric with a recognizable narrative, melodic hooks, authentic country textures, and a mid-paced groove that bridges the gap between ballad and radio-friendly energy. The instrumentation fortifies a consistent country music style adopting the use of slide guitar, drums, banjo, and vocal harmonies to provide a solid base for the various other contemporary textures such as claps and a crisp, clean production. Rusty’s vocal performance communicates the lyric with a nuanced and finely wrought emotion, highlighting his wide-ranging and proficient skills.

This track exemplifies how modern country music is progressing, incorporating an accepted musical formula with a long history, and modifying it, resulting in an exciting, modern amalgamation. It’s Still You will no doubt add to the many chart successes of Rusty has had with his first three albums: Happy Ending (2018), Second Gear (2019) and High Gear (2020). Rusty’s first single, Wondering Why, reached number one on Europe’s Hotdisc Top 40 country music chart and number 51 on Billboard’s Country Breakout Chart in the US.

‘‘ It’s Still You will confirm Rusty Gear’s standing as one of the most impressive contemporary country artists of recent years and will help shift his Spotify streams up from the 900,000 mark and well into the millions.

From High Gear,Sorry Excuses, featuring vocals by Bekka Bramlett, reached number two on the Roots Radio Chicago Blues Song Chart and High Maintenance reached number seven on the same chart. Also, from High Gear, Tequila Won't Solve Your Problems hit number one on the Hotdisc Top 40 in April and Won’t Forget (Remix) was number one on that chart for four weeks in June.

It’s Still You will confirm Rusty Gear’s standing as one of the most impressive contemporary country artists of recent years and will help shift his Spotify streams up from the 900,000 mark and well into the millions.
